NEW Containerized build: OpenCart 4.1.0.4 and MariaDB now run as Docker containers on the instance. Application updates can be delivered without replacing the AMI, and your catalogue, orders and images are kept in separate storage that updates do not touch.

NEW AlmaLinux 10: Rebuilt on AlmaLinux 10, replacing AlmaLinux 9.

NEW Your own domain with a free SSL certificate: One command requests a Let’s Encrypt certificate, redirects HTTP to HTTPS, and renews automatically. A Caddy reverse proxy handles HTTPS in front of Apache.

NEW Randomised administration address: The administration area is no longer at /admin. Each instance is given a different address, in the form ocadmin followed by four digits, shown in the installation summary. This is a feature OpenCart supports itself and you can change it again from the admin.

NEW Nothing to install by hand: OpenCart is installed automatically at first boot, including the administrator account. There is no setup wizard to complete and no install folder to remove afterwards.

IMPROVED OpenCart 4.1.0.4: Updated from 4.1.0.3 to the current upstream release. The version is now fixed in the image, so every instance of a given build carries exactly the same application.

IMPROVED MariaDB 11.4, the long term support series.

IMPROVED PHP 8.2 with tuned limits for larger catalogues and product image uploads.

IMPROVED The database is no longer reachable from outside the instance. It runs on an isolated internal network with no published port.

IMPROVED Recommended ports reduced to 22, 80 and 443. The database and mail ports previously listed are not required.

FIXED Log files, template sources and configuration files are no longer readable over the web.

FIXED The storage directory is placed outside the web root during installation, which clears OpenCart’s standing security notice without any action from you.
