NEW Upgraded to ISPConfig 3.3.2, the current release, on AlmaLinux 10, replacing ISPConfig 3.2.12p on AlmaLinux 8.10.

NEW Your control panel is installed and ready when the installer finishes, in about three minutes. Every credential is generated on your own instance, and the panel sign-in is shown once at the end of installation.

NEW Roundcube Webmail is installed and ready, so your mail users have browser webmail from the first day.

NEW A trusted SSL certificate for the control panel in one command. Once you have added a website for your own domain with Let’s Encrypt SSL, run sudo /usr/local/bin/egl-panel-ssl.sh and the control panel, mail and FTP all move onto that certificate, with renewal handled for you.

NEW Jailed SSH and SFTP accounts. Shell users created in the control panel are confined to their own directory with Jailkit, so one account cannot see another account’s files or the rest of the server. Accounts are given access with an SSH key, set on the same form in the panel.

NEW Swap space is sized from the instance’s own memory and enabled at boot, giving the mail and filtering stack headroom on smaller instance types.

IMPROVED MariaDB 11.4, a long-term support release, and PHP 8.3.

IMPROVED The database is not reachable from outside the instance and port 3306 is not opened. Databases are administered from the panel’s own phpMyAdmin, per database.

IMPROVED Postfix postscreen rejects the bulk of spam at the connection, before it reaches content filtering, replacing greylisting.

IMPROVED Recommended inbound ports now cover exactly what the server serves: web, mail, FTP with a firewalled passive range, the control panel, and the panel applications that serve webmail and phpMyAdmin. The database and the administration console are no longer among them.

IMPROVED SELinux runs in permissive mode, so the control panel can manage sites, jails and mail paths without policy denials interrupting them. Denials are still logged.

IMPROVED Every service the control panel manages is enabled, so the server comes back as expected after a reboot.

IMPROVED Fail2ban runs with an SSH jail enabled, so repeated failed sign-in attempts are blocked from first boot rather than after configuration.

IMPROVED Removed: OpenFire XMPP Server is no longer included. It was not managed by ISPConfig and is not part of this image.

IMPROVED Removed: Mailing list management is no longer included. ISPConfig’s module drives Mailman 2 only, which is no longer available.

IMPROVED Removed: The server does not answer DNS queries from the internet as shipped, and port 53 is not opened. The control panel’s DNS manager still works for creating and editing zones.
